The Name
When I came up with it, it had 3 meanings:
- Some kind of patting oneself on the back when experiencing any kind of pain ("somebody is alive, huh").
- When you live very reclusively for a while, you start feeling detached from the society, as if your social persona got numb and you are now an abstract creature. “Somebody is alive” describes that self-perception perfectly. Well, at least that was my experience.
- When you are feeling low & numb, but get lucky enough to come across very alive characters ("somebody out there is truly alive! it is actually possible!"), it reminds you what is a healthy place to be in, to strive for.
