I haven't read anything by her, hadn't read or watched her interviews before… Endearing peculiarity, plus shy confidence, plus mindfulness — that was fun. There were also several ideas that I had to hear.
But there is this weird thing that sometimes happens when you watch or read writer's interviews: it becomes obvious that this particular writer ignores even the basic knowledge that social science has accumulated, and just tries to figure out people and the world on their own. And it makes for weaker ideas and weaker understanding of the issues. There are such moments in this interview.
